WITH THE PUBLIC THREAT POSED BY COVID19, DRUM AND LYRE THEMATIC COSTUME PARADE ORDERED CANCELLED
KIDAPAWAN CITY – City Mayor Joseph Evangelista has approved the joint recommendation of the City Tourism Office, DepEd Kidapawan City Schools Division and City Health Office to CANCEL the Drum & Lyre Competition and Thematic Costume Parade on March 14, 2020.

Bases for the Mayor’s approval of the joint recommendation are Presidential Proclamation No. 922 declaring a State of Public Health Emergency and Department of Education Memorandum No. 031.

The City Government cannot afford to expose participating schools and learners to the hazards of COVID19 as precautionary measure for all, hence, the added reason for the approval of the joint recommendation.

Said activities are part of the 22nd Charter Day celebration of the City on February 10-14, 2020 that were earlier postponed due to the COVID19 threat to the general public.

The cash prizes allocated for the events will be distributed equally to all participating entries, and the manner of distribution will be tackled during a meeting between the City Tourism Office and the participating contingents later today, 10 March 2020.

Likewise, the public is encouraged to follow the health advisories issued by the National Government to ensure the prevention and containment of COVID19.

To report any possible cases, the public may contact the City Health Office through its Disease Surveillance Officer through the following numbers: 09073660078 and 577-9256.##(cio/ajpme/lkro)
